PIONWAY offers gear racks from stock in brass, steel, and stainless steel. Our stock gear racks have a pressure angle of 20 degrees and diametric pitches of 24, 32, 48, and 64. All PIONWAY gear racks meet and exceed quality standards and our own precision manufacturing tolerances.

What is a gear rack? A rack and pinion is a pair of gears which convert rotational motion into linear motion. A circular gear called the pinion engages teeth on a linear gear bar called the gear rack. Rotational motion applied to the pinion causes the gear rack to move, thereby translating the rotational motion of the pinion into the linear motion of the gear rack.

Automotive steering, milling machines, grinders, and meat processing machines are a few of the machines using gear racks. Gear racks are also used in robotics, CNC routers, material handling systems, automation systems, and the aerospace industry.
